Introducing... The Overhead Bin
Welcome, y’all!
It’s been a busy year. March was the hard launch of Nichols Hospitality Group, something that has lived on the back burner, bubbling away for the last two-ish years. Fast forward to today: 366 hotel room nights booked and over 100 trips designed later, and I’d say this is officially a thing!
Most of the results of starting this business were unexpected, and largely wonderful. Launching a business instagram account and “creating content” in any shape or form was not on my bingo card, but it has been a huge point of growth for me, both personally and professionally. As I’ve spent more time creating and building NHG, I’ve found myself looking for more than Instagram has to offer, and a place where I can share longer form, truly helpful information for y’all.
And by truly helpful I mean:
Where do I eat after a morning spent wandering the Met?
How to maximize your VAT refund (and girl-math your way into a new handbag).
When to book trips so you actually save money and get the best options.
I come home from each trip bursting at the seams with ideas, thoughts, and just overall lots to SHARE. I take copious notes and have literal drawers full of cards, notes, and information cataloged away that deserves to be shared with people who will find value in it. My hope for this space is to share more, provide context for my thoughts/hot takes, and yap about all things travel to anyone who wants to join me!
Here’s the plan: every Tuesday I’ll be posting on a new topic, with each month tied to a seasonal theme. September = Tropical Travel—fitting since I’m writing this from Cabo (glam ✨) and because now’s the perfect time to start planning those warm, sunny getaways that will save you from February’s pale, driveway-iced blues.
So grab a screen, settle in, and let’s talk travel. Thank you for being here and keep on travelin’! (wait that’s what Rick Steves says shoot I gotta think of something else!!!!)
P.S. I’m calling this The Overhead Bin, because that’s where you stash the things you’ll need later… including, apparently, me as a two-year-old. (Thanks, Mom and Dad!)
